About ABIOGeT : https://www.abioget.org/

Based in Maroua, Cameroon, ABIOGeT’s mission is to combat desertification, climate change and food insecurity within Cameroon and other areas of Africa. ABIOGeT does so through its programs and projects which focus on agroforestry, environmental education, water management and humanitarian work.

Internationally, ABIOGeT assists in Tchad at the Binder-Lere Wildlife Reserve. Throughout its existence, ABIOGeT has signed partnership agreements with allowing it to operate in several locations. For example, partnerships with the University of Laval in 2019, World Agroforestry (ICRAF) in 2020, the Government of Canada in October 2020 and recently the University of Quebec in Rimouski in February 2021.

In the opinion of ABIOGeT, sustainable development starts with making organizations cognizant of its importance, training organizations to operate in a sustainable manner and improving the standard of living of marginalized populations.

Reinforcement of management and governance practices within ABIOGeT

CPAWB has agreed to partake in a series of mandates with ABIOGeT. The first, to assist ABIOGeT with a self-diagnosis (current state analysis) whereby ABIOGeT will identify improvement opportunities regarding its accounting, management, and governance practices with regards to its local operations (in Cameroon).

This first mandate will allow CPAWB and ABIOGeT to establish a plan and scope for subsequent mandates, which will assist ABIOGeT in the following areas;

  • Adoption of appropriate and efficient accounting practices

  • Optimization of ABIOGeT’s management and decision-making process
